Walleye Charters

We target Walleye. One of the best tasting fresh water fish. Our season starts in May and runs through September. We like to book charters of 2 or more but will take individuals. We will often combine individuals or small groups into a larger group, never exceeding 4 total. Groups of 3 or 4 will most likely have a first mate to help you out, depending on your experience and comfort level. We launch from the PA Fish Commission Walnut Creek access.  241 Manchester Rd, Fairview, PA 16415. Unless otherwise arranged. The cost is $75 per person for a 4 hour charter or limit.

 

Equipment

We have a 20’ Lund deep V with a 150 four stroke Yamaha and 9.9 kicker. Set up for catching walleye. Safety is priority. The captain will make the decision to start or end the charted at any time. General rule is -if the waves are over 2.5 feet, we are not out on the water-.

We can run up to 10 line counter reels and 2downriggers. Our most common is a 6 to 8 rod setup. We catch a lot of fish. We will troll dipsey divers, mini planers, planer boards and deep divers lures. We will use spoons, stick baits and worm harnesses.

Kayak Fishing

If you never have experienced catching Walleye, Sheephead, Catfish or Bass from a kayak, you don’t know what you are missing. We have 2 sit on top pedal kayaks (Hobie Outback and Slayer 12) The best time to head out is May to mid June to catch fish closer to shore. These rent for $50 each, per hour with a single guide. Three hours is recommended. We launch from the PA Fish Commission Walnut Creek access. 241 Manchester Rd, Fairview, PA 16415. What to bring

If you are prone to sea sickness, take your meds the night before. Not the day of or when you ‘feel it coming on’.

  • Valid PA Fishing License 

Lake Erie Stamp (Required)

Trout Stamp (not required, will have to be catch and release with out)

  • Cooler for your fish - leave at your car until the end

  • Sun Screen - Sun Glasses

  • Hat - Long sleeve shirt if you burn easy Jacket if its cold

  • Camera - phone

  • Food, Beverage. We will not tolerate over consumption of alcohol.
